The Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade

This autumn and winter we are learning an ancient qigong routine called the Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade. It consists of 8 exercises which nourish the whole body and all the energy systems. Some of our class members have asked for a list of the exercises so they can practise at home.
- Two Hands Lift the Heavens 
- Drawing the Bow 
- Separate Heaven and Earth 
- Wise Owl Gazes Backwards 
- Sway the Head, Shake the Tail 
- Two Hands Hold Feet 
- Puncing with Fiery Eyes 
- Bounce on the Heels 
In between each exercise and at the end we practise Clearing the Qi.
There are many different variations of the 8 Brocades that you may come across, because it is a very ancient practice. This is the one I have learned from my teacher.
